## What is Fast?

Fast is a real-time, verifiable settlement system for the agentic economy. Current payment systems are not built for autonomous agents, which require millions of transactions per second, agent-to-agent transparency, and instant finality. Through parallel settlement, Fast enables agents to move money globally and securely at true internet speed.

## Built by Pi2 Labs

Fast is built by Pi2 Labs, founded by Grigore Rosu (creator of the K framework, UIUC professor) and Sriram Vishwanath (IEEE Fellow, Georgia Tech). Pi2 Labs has raised $12.5M from Polychain Capital, Maven11, Robot Ventures, Franklin Templeton, and Bloccelerate.

- **Parallel settlement** using the actor model combined with blockchain decentralization
- **Formal verification** via the K framework and matching logic
- **Proof of Proof** - verifiable computing using succinct cryptographic proofs
- **Language-independent** - works with any programming language's formal semantics
